The “other” local sports team…

Oh, I just checked and saw the Brewers blew another game late.  Six runs given up in the 7th/8th innings.  Cubs are winning 8-0 and are going to move to 3.5 games up on the crew.  I am going to try hard not to even look at the results of the remaining games.  Time to pretend this season never happened.  It’s not that they didn’t have a good year when compared to the last several (should have their first winning season since ’92), but in the scope of the season it is such a letdown.  They’ve completely regressed from a team with strong pitching, aggressive offense and consistent play to the same old Brewers.  Once again, we’re looking at an injured Ben Sheets, starting pitching that can’t make it through 5 innings, an overused and unreliable bullpen, an offense that leaves men on base too much and relies completely on the home run and shaky managing (at best).  Oh yeah, and another second half of the season collapse.  I know there aren’t a ton of options out there for quick change, but we can’t have the status quo continue while all of our young stars are reaching their prime.  If the pitching and one-dimensional offense don’t improve we could potentially put all this talent to waste.  One thing I know for certain, this team cannot afford to have next year bring more than 29 losses by relievers (as they have had this year and last).

Dude, could be worse. At least you’re not a Mets fan. I almost feel sorry for them.

    Almost.
