Well, I found a bunch of info on disc read errors with the PS2… I figured out how to adjust the laser inside the unit as well. I took everything apart and made sure there was no dust on the lens or anywhere else for that matter. I didn’t have time to play with lens adjustment, as I was really tired and high on cold medicine at the time. However, as I have time and feel better, I plan to sit down and give it a shot. Seems to be a trial and error process for the most part… but I was planning on buying a new system anyway, so if I can prevent that, great, if not, nothing changes. Worth a shot.
Also, I found one neat website that is new to me. Payperpost.com. Essentially, they have a bunch of companies sign up to recruit bloggers to talk about their products. The advertiser can specify certain parameters for the posts (such as length, type of blog it can appear in and even whether or not negative posts can be allowed). After the posts go through a review period, they are hopefully approved and the blogger receives compensation for their posts. Most of the companies require 100-200 words and the majority pay $5-10. Some are more, some less. A lot of the products are web-based services that have free trials, so there should be no monetary involvement on the bloggers’ part. Simply a trade of time and a bit of integrity. I figure it’s worthwhile, because I can earn a bunch of extra cash (several folks said they make $100-200/month) and I can honestly say I won’t lie in my review. Sure I’ll be promoting products I normally wouldn’t, but I don’t plan to take a crappy service and say that it’s great just to make $5. I figure it’s not a bad way to make some change, since I’m a marketing student and copywriting could be a big part of a future career. Either way, your blog needs to be 90 days old to be considered. So for the time being I can’t post anything. In the time to come, you’ll see stuff scattered in with my regular posts. Should be easy to identify the PPP stuff, as it will be the only non-NFL posts!
